I am a retired nurse and lecturer in midwifery living in the beautiful Peak District with my husband, Nick. We manage a Community Cafe which is a registered charity.

Nick had a progressive gambling addiction throughout his youth and into adulthood. His addiction wrecked his first marriage and caused the loss of his family, his home and his business. His mental health deteriorating, Nick found himself homeless, penniless and suicidal.
Donna lived among addicts for most of her life. A failed marriage and failed relationships behind her she was finally alone. Despite her promise to herself that she didn’t want or need another man in her life, she had the one thing that Nick didn’t know that he needed.
A chance meeting in Paris, France turned both of their lives inside out.
