That is I am back but I am in a different place. The move back to Yorkshire was made more difficult because I fell and broke my elbow! Moving lots of stuff with one hand made it an excruciatingly slow transition!
Now we (the hubster) and I are ensconced in a beautiful apartment and we love it! The place is cared for there is secure parking and although there is a garden we on the 1st floor have no obligation to tend it! We have a balcony a la Juliet and can wave at passers by as if we are royalty. Our subjects don’t always wave back. To be honest they tend to look at us with a mixture of curiosity, fear, and mirth.
Living in a new place is exciting and confusing to start with but now we have our bearings it’s a joy. Even shopping is exciting. A word I would never have thought to use in the past.
We are close to our church family and as Deacons are able to do so much more than before when we were trekking over the Pennines every week.
The fact that we viewed the place. had all the paperwork in place and received the keys within a week was in the words of the estate agent “unheard of”.
All the women in the church had been praying and storming the gates of heaven asking God to find us a place nearby. He didn’t disappoint. It is in the perfect location 5minutes from our church building. Jesus said “ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, Knock and the door will be open to you.” What a wonderful promise. As God’s children He promises to take care of us.
He doesn’t always shelter us from the storms of life to come. This is a troubled world. But He will help and guide us through it all whatever comes our way.
I now choose to live with an attitude of gratitude for all that I have. To move to the apartment which is smaller than the cottage we lived in we had to do some serious downsizing. That is I had to do some serious downsizing.
Bag after bag of books and clothes and electrical things we never used and didn’t know we had made their way to the charity shops. It was like an episode of “Sort Your Life Out” For every bag and box that went I could hear Staceys encouraging voice willing us over the finish line. We now have a decluttered space. Except for one room of doom ( everyone has one dont they?) . Nick says as long as I keep that door shut and carry on “cleansing” the room it will be fine. A minimalist living with a maximalist can be very difficult at times! Every book, and it is usually books and every miniature or trinket is viewed with a scornful look.
So I’m hoping now that I can get back to what I am called to do, however badly.
Sending lots of love ❤️ to you all out there wherever you may be God bless you 🙏
